While everyone seems to put off buying a new home, it's probably a great deal simpler than you may think. Robertson Brothers has come up with a comprehensive checklist to help you get started... and well on your way to home ownership.
Checklist
Step 1: Get pre-approved for your mortgage.
While your mortgage counselor will guide you through the entire process, you will need the following documents for your initial meeting regarding your loan application:
- Your most recent paycheck stubs for each person applying for the loan
- Your past two years' W-2's and/or 1099's for each person applying for the loan
- Your past two months' bank/investment/retirement statements for all your accounts
Why not consider Countrywide Home Loans for your home loan? Because of our long-standing relationship with Countrywide Home Loans, you can be rest assured that the entire process will be streamlined and stress-free.
Step 2: Choose the Robertson Brothers community right for you!
Choose your Robertson Brothers community, home site and model. There's one just right for you as we offer a number of communities in many of the area's premier locations. Our models and floor plans offer a variety of options that are sure to please the most discriminating home buyer.
Step 3: Personalize!
Selections. Selections. Selections. That's the theme for this part of the ownership process. Your Design Center consultant will help you in selecting the choices that help really make your home unique. You'll make decisions concerning cabinetry, flooring, electrical, paint, appliances, fixtures and more.
Step 4: Home Buying Seminar
You will learn what to expect during the construction process. You'll meet with a member of our on-site construction staff and a sales consultant for an overview of the entire process. You'll go over each and every step of construction and warranty of your new home.
Step 5: Construction
Your individual construction timetable depends upon the model you have chosen and its availability. Thorough inspections are held throughout the entire construction process to ensure that each and every phase meets with our rigorous quality standards. For instance, during our Rough Frame Punch Out stage, our construction staff conducts a 57-item inspection. During Pre-Walk (held right before your Pre-Closing Orientation) our staff conducts a 41-item inspection.
Step 6: Pre-Closing Orientation
Approximately 7 days prior to closing, your pre-closing orientation is scheduled. What to expect: a staff member will walk through the home with you to review the home carefully. We'll answer any questions you may have, give you maintenance and care advice, and review warranties and service contracts. A member of our staff will then walk through the home with you once more on the day of the closing to confirm that all items have been completed to your satisfaction.
Step 7: Closing
Now that the title company has finalized the paperwork, your are ready to get your keys and move into your fabulous new Robertson Brothers home. Congratulations!
